Goodbye 2023, hello 2024!

friends of SHED,

a very happy new year!

i want to say how very grateful I am for you, my small circle of readers. Not only have you cheered on this neophyte writer as she finds her footing, you have buoyed me personally through the final stretch of 2023, my annus horribilis.

to 2023 I say: SAYONARA, MOTHERFUCKER.... now let’s turn the page.

i've been silent the past month or so and if you have visited SHED recently, you'd have noticed that all my posts have been taken down. let me explain!

in november, a poet friend and SHED reader generously suggested that I submit my work to small journals. i had zero expectations about being published. I imagined it would be good to familiarize myself with the mechanics, to experience the process, so I'd be prepared when the time came.

well, life likes to serve up surprises, to keep things interesting.
